Power Supply and Capacitor Testing

Power Supply and Capacitor Testing

In servo drives, a stable and uninterrupted power supply is critical for both performance and safety. At OVA Servo, we meticulously test the power supply circuits and capacitor structures of servo drives to prevent potential faults and ensure long-term, reliable operation.

The process begins with a thorough analysis of rectifiers, voltage regulators, and filtering components within the power circuit. Output voltage levels are checked using oscilloscopes and digital measuring instruments to detect fluctuations or instability. Any signs of sudden voltage drops or ripple effects are identified and addressed with precision.

During capacitor testing, the drive’s main capacitors (electrolytic, ceramic, or film types) are evaluated for ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance), capacitance value, and leakage current. Capacitors that have degraded over time, become swollen, or lost capacity are replaced with original, high-quality equivalents before they can cause failures.

In addition, high-voltage capacitors are examined with thermal imaging to detect overheating or failure risks that may not be visible through standard tests. This ensures optimal voltage regulation and reliable energy storage within the drive.

With OVA Servo’s advanced power supply and capacitor testing service, your servo drive benefits from a clean, stable energy input—minimizing the risk of unexpected downtimes and hardware malfunctions.
